When one lacks confidence in his ability to influence social decisions, he is less likely to actively participate as an agent of change. Violence and distrust of institutions, as well as limited hope to transform the country, leads to minimal participation and involvement of people to resolve the key needs of their community, which weakens the social fabric. In addition, issues of inequality, power and corruption have provided little space for peaceful and efficient civic engagement.

We encourage people to be agents of change by taking responsibility for their actions and getting involved in social issues through developing such skills as decision making and teamwork. We train community leaders who are able to influence local authorities in the development and implementation of public policies. We promote changes so that people take control and seek their own solutions in situations of violence, insecurity, pollution and lack of infrastructure in their communities.
