Working with parents to strengthen their relationships with their adolescent and young adult children, including a focus on their own personal development and empowerment
Description 
A 20-hour workshop for parents of youth ages 13 to 25. Sessions include topics of personal development and empowerment for parents of teens, acceptance and understanding, communication, negotiation and boundary setting, violence prevention, sexuality, affection and trust. The program is adapted to the context of the participants and can be applied in rural and urban settings. It includes the book "Let your teenager fly" (currently only in Spanish).
Objectives
Strengthen parents' life skills development, building intrinsic empowerment and personal agency.
Reduce myths and fears about managing adolescents within the family.
Provide parents with alternatives to strengthen their relationship with their teens as a risk prevention strategy.
Facilitate adolescents' life skills development through healthy interactions within the family.
