Implement a comprehensive model of obesity prevention, care and control for greater diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention in northern Mexico's border states.
Project objectives
Integrate a life skills component into the diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention materials and strategies of the Ministry of Health and the Alliance for a Healthy Border.
Provide accompaniment, monitoring and support to health personnel as they replicate workshops with their patients in the health center Diabetic Clubs of border cities.
Conduct an impact evaluation of the program through a mixed qualitative (focus groups) and quantitative (biometric measurements and knowledge) methodology.
Compare results between three groups: diagnosed patients, at risk patients and a control group.

Significant decreases of glucose and triglycerides in the high risk group
