Urban areas with excessive traffic, poor air quality and lack of safe spaces tend to discourage physical activity and promote unhealthy lifestyles. The culture of technology generates more sedentary lifestyles that impact society’s health, increasing the rates of obesity and diabetes in all ages. Compounding this, parents do not set the example for physical exercise or sports; only 20% of parents spend time doing physical activities with their children.

At Yo quiero Yo Puedo, we promote the shifting of attitudes and the development of behaviors to maintain healthier lifestyles. We build awareness of the importance of taking care of one’s health and holistic well-being, stemming from making informed and responsible lifestyle decisions. Our experiential and participatory methodology includes physical activity as a strategy for holistic learning. We reinforce the importance of the role of school and physical education in the development of each child.
