Early childhood represents a decisive stage for the development of a child’s health and of his intellectual and emotional abilities. The possibility of survival, his emotional well-being and his cognitive development depend to a large extent on his attachment to his caregivers and receiving adequate stimulation in healthy settings. Addressing the mother’s mental health and strengthening parenting styles results in children with higher intellectual performance and stronger psychosocial skills and personal resources to cope with life’s challenges.

Mothers, parents and caregivers who participate in our workshops change their behaviors to create healthy environments. The maternal-infant relationship, the promotion of breastfeeding, the prevention of SIDS and the modeling of appropriate stimulation and play practices are prioritized. Our "I want to I can" Development Centers lessen the impact of marginalization and neglect on children’s future. Mothers and caregivers become empowered, acquiring knowledge and becoming agents of change in their family and community.
