Develop, implement and evaluate a national program to promote breastfeeding, SIDS prevention and early stimulation, training health personnel to replicate the program with more than 500,000 women, beneficiaries of the Mexican government's Seguro Popular program for low-income families.
Project objectives
Foment exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life as a key strategy to promote physical and mental health.
Promote play as a means of adequate stimulation and a facilitator of the mother-child relationship.
Develop the life skills of both health personnel and reproductive-age women, including skills of self-awareness, empathy, expression of emotions, critical thinking, decision making and teamwork.
Strengthen knowledge and skills to prevent SIDS.
Educate mothers on self-care before, during and after pregnancy, removing myths, misinformation and fears.
