School-based addiction prevention, through a psychosocial approach. Teachers and youth promoters are trained and then replicate the program with their students and classmates.
Description 
Utilizing a participatory and experiential methodology accompanied by educational materials, the program is based on the development of life skills and reduces the risk of addictions in children and adolescents. Knowledge is reinforced, healthy attitudes are promoted and protective behaviors, such as self-awareness and peer-pressure management, are reinforced. Educators and youth promoters are trained and parents are educated. The school community acts together for the common good.
Objectives
Increase knowledge about the risks of legal and illegal substance use, taking into account the needs of each population.
Strengthen life skills key for dealing with situations of substance use and abuse risk.
Promote reflection and application of healthy alternatives to live a creative and productive life, as well as alternatives for handling stress and emotional problems.
Improve group facilitation skills to transmit and maintain key prevention messages in the school community.
Reduce the risk of substance use from an early age by protecting children's and adolscents' brain development.
