Strengthen Mexico's then-new National Sexuality Education Program through the creation of a base of qualified instructors prepared to train their colleagues in the Secretariat of Public Education, provision of educational materials and mobilization of state officials.
Project objectives
Conduct training workshops in integrated sexual health and family life education for Secretariat of Public Education instructors in states where official support for sexuality education was strongest- Mexico City, Tamaulipas and Coahuila.
Meet with authorities and instructors where there was evidence of growing official support for sexual education in order to promote the collaborative development of each state's Sexual Education Plan.
Monitor, supervise and provide ongoing support to trained teachers.
Provide trainer educational materials for distribution through libraries and teacher.training centers.
Conduct a quantitative and qualitative evaluation of training workshops and of the "I want to, I can" training manual.
