I want to, I can … prevent unplanned pregnancies

This project strengthens the capacity of high school youth in the state of Chihuahua to achieve integral health and the full exercise of their sexual and reproductive rights, through a life skills training program.

Project objectives

Increase knowledge on sexual health, pregnancy prevention and gender violence.

Improve the development of life skills, especially those associated with risk prevention in adolescence: self-knowledge, critical thinking, assertive communication, negotiation, expression of emotions and mid- and long-term planning.

Improve attitudes towards sexual health, reduce psychosocial barriers and support the development of a life path.

Enhance protective behaviors: buying a condom, talking with one´s partner about contraception, rejecting unprotected sex, being able to prevent pregnancy, supporting gender equity.

Increase personal agency (self-efficacy) and intrinsic empowerment to positively influence other youth´s life planning.
